Car Sales Executive – Vauxhall March 2023

We are hiring for a FULL TIME CAR SALES EXECUTIVE in our new Vauxhall Showroom at Coney Ave, Barnstaple.

The successful applicant will be responsible for selling new and used vehicles and additional products from our exciting Vauxhall range of new and used cars which was the most successful retail share growth brand in the UK in 2022.

You will be joining us at an exciting time for the Brand which has an industry leading roll out roadmap of electric and hybrid models culminating with at least 50% of all sales being from these ranges within 5 Years. In addition we have just launched the exciting new Grandland and Astra models the all new performance based GSi range.

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for every aspect of the sales process:

  • Meeting and greeting customers,
  • Discussing their wants and needs,
  • Demonstrating the unique features and future technologies that make owning a Vehicle an absolute delight,
  • Acting as the main point of contact for your customers,
  • Be an expert on every model in the range,
  • Be an ambassador for the brand, and the face and personality of our business.

The ideal Sales Executive will hold the following skills and experiences:

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Self-motivated and organised. IT literate with a full UK driving licence. Excellent communication skills via email, telephone and face to face. In return you will receive a very realistic and competitive uncapped OTE salary and commission package.

Car sales experience is preferred but not essential. However, you must be able to demonstrate sales experience and results.

Service Technician Apprentice – Vauxhall March 2023

The role of a Vehicle Service Technician is to maintain, service, and repair vehicles to a consistently high standard. Our dealers use some of the most advanced service equipment and techniques in the world, making this a great time to start your career with Stellantis.

This exciting apprenticeship programme is ideal for someone who is looking to begin their journey to becoming a qualified Service Technician and who wants to develop a long-term career with an ambitious automotive brand.

THE ROLE OF A LIGHT VEHICLE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Apprenticeship is geared toward training the next generation of Light Vehicle Service Technicians. But what does the role involve?

The Light Vehicle Service Technician role varies slightly by the employer and is based upon the specific needs within the location. The below explanation is a guide to support you in understanding what the role might entail.

Light Vehicle Service Technicians service and repair light vehicles such as cars up to 3.5 tonnes. Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The duties of a Light Vehicle Service Technician may include:

  • Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
  • Producing time estimates
  • Maintaining repair and service records

WORKING WEEK

A typical working week could be 40 hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm, however, each of our Dealers will have different requirements.

All learners will be required to work the minimum apprenticeship duration of 30 hours per week. At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to ‘off-the-job’ training. We’ll support you to understand the working hours during the recruitment process.

YOUR DEVELOPMENT

Our Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent way of ensuring we have high-quality people working within our Dealer Network. We’re looking for ambitious candidates ready to take ownership of their development, work hard to achieve their potential and grow with an ambitious employer.

The Programme lasts for at least 36 months and you’ll achieve a nationally recognised qualification; Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle) at Level 3.

We will support you to gain your Functional Skills if you require them in Maths and English.

All of our Apprentices are employed through the Dealer Network and attend week-long block training at our state-of-the-art Training Centre in Coventry.

Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced Coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age: 16+

Prior Attainment: GCSE (or equivalent) grade A*-C or 9-4 in Maths and English. Predicated grades are accepted.

In Scotland, applicants must have or be predicted to achieve National 4 or above in English and Maths and either a Science or Technical subject. Standard Grades 1-4 and Intermediates are also accepted.

‘Equivalent’ grades include:

  • BTEC first diplomas and certificates
  • OCR Nationals
  • Key Skills Level 2
  • NVQs
  • Essential Skills (Wales)
  • Functional Skills Level 2
  • Core Skills (Scotland)

Your application will be assessed by the Recruitment & Selection Team against the Entry Requirements specified for the role. We aim to update you on the status of your application within no more than 5 working days.

If you are successful in your application you will be invited to participate in a short telephone interview. Candidates are then shortlisted again and will be asked to complete a range of web-based assessments appropriate to the role that you have applied for.

Finally, candidates are invited to meet with their local Dealer in the form of a face-to-face interview. This may extend to a second interview and in some cases a working trial.
